PRIVACY POLICY

Last Updated: September 9, 2026. This policy replaces the version dated November 13, 2019.

DexCheck, LLC ("DexCheck," "we," "us") makes mobile games for iPhone and iPad, including Crossword Puzzles, All Mixed Up, and 3 Words (the "Apps"). This policy explains what information the Apps collect, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to every DexCheck App unless an App links to its own policy.

Information You Give Us

If you use an App's feedback feature or email us, we receive what you write, your email address, and a small block of technical details the App adds to the message so we can help you: the App's name and version, your device model and iOS version, and the App's internal user ID (described below). You can delete that block before sending.

We do not ask for your name, phone number, postal address, payment details, or any account credentials. The Apps have no accounts.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use an App, the following is collected by the App or by the third-party software it includes (see "Who We Share Information With"):

  • Identifiers. A random identifier the App creates on first launch and keeps on your device; Apple's identifier for vendors (IDFV); the analytics "app instance ID"; and, only if you allow tracking when the App asks, Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA).
  • Device and app information. Device model, operating system version, language, region, time zone, App version, and whether the App is running in the foreground.
  • Usage information. What you do in the App: puzzles started and finished, hints used, screens visited, settings changed, purchases begun, ads viewed and tapped. This is how we learn which features are used and where players get stuck.
  • Purchase events. When you buy something through Apple, the analytics software records the product, its name, and its price. Apple handles the payment; we never receive your payment method or billing details.
  • Approximate location. Your country and region, derived from your IP address. The Apps do not collect precise location and never ask for location permission.
  • Advertising information. Which ads were shown, whether you interacted with them, and the technical signals ad networks use to select and measure ads.
  • Diagnostics. Crash reports and performance measurements from the advertising and analytics software.

The Apps contact DexCheck's own servers only to download a small configuration file. Like any web server, ours records the IP address, request time, and device user agent of each request in its logs. Nothing else is sent to DexCheck.

How We Use Information

  • To run the Apps: unlock content you have earned or bought, remember your settings and progress, and restore purchases.
  • To show advertising, which is how the Apps are free. Whether that advertising is personalized to you depends on the choices described below.
  • To measure and improve the Apps: understand which puzzles and features are used, find crashes and bugs, and decide what to build next.
  • To respond when you contact us.
  • To comply with law and protect our rights and our players.

We do not sell your information for money. We do share information with advertising partners so they can show and measure ads, which some privacy laws treat as a "sale" or "sharing." The sections for your region below explain your rights in that respect.

Who We Share Information With

The Apps include software from the following companies, which collect the automatically collected information described above directly from your device under their own privacy policies:

We also share information when the law requires it, to enforce our terms, to protect the safety of players or the public, and with a buyer if DexCheck is acquired, in which case this policy will continue to apply to the information until it is changed.

Advertising, Tracking, and Your Choices

Personalized ads and the tracking permission. On iOS, an App may only use the advertising identifier to personalize ads if you allow it when the App asks. Our Apps explain why before asking, and Apple then shows its own prompt. If you decline, you still see ads, but they are selected without your advertising identifier and tend to be less relevant and to repeat more. You can change your answer at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, then Tracking. Some Apps offer to ask again later if you chose "Maybe later."

Privacy options inside the App. Where the law gives you a choice about personalized advertising or the sale or sharing of your information, the App's Settings screen shows a Privacy Options item that lets you make or change that choice at any time. The Apps apply your choice to Google and to AppLovin.

Removing ads. Buying an App's subscription or ad-removal product turns off advertising in that App. Analytics continues, so we can still see how the App is used, but no ad software runs.

Google's ad settings. You can also control ad personalization across Google services at adssettings.google.com.

Permissions ads may request. An ad may ask for access to your calendar or photos, for example to add an event or save an image. Those requests come from the ad, the answer is always yours, and declining changes nothing about the App.

Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland

Who is responsible. DexCheck, LLC is the controller of the information described in this policy. You can reach us at support@dexcheck.com.

Consent. When you first open an App in these regions, a consent message asks whether we and our advertising partners may store information on your device and use it for personalized advertising and measurement. The message lists each partner and each purpose. You can decline everything with one tap, accept everything, or choose purpose by purpose. Your choices are stored on your device and can be changed at any time through Privacy Options in the App's Settings. If you decline the storage purpose, analytics runs in a mode that does not store identifiers.

Legal bases. Our legal bases for processing are: your consent, for personalized advertising, advertising measurement, and analytics storage; our legitimate interests, for showing non-personalized advertising that keeps the Apps free, for security and fraud prevention, and for basic operation of the Apps; and performance of a contract, for delivering what you purchase.

Your rights. You have the right to ask for access to your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive it in a portable form, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. To exercise a right, email us. Because the Apps have no accounts, we may ask you for the App's internal user ID (shown at the bottom of the message the App's feedback feature composes) so we can identify the information that is yours. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

International transfers. DexCheck is in the United States, and our partners process information in the United States and elsewhere. Google and AppLovin rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and on standard contractual clauses for those transfers; details are in their privacy policies linked above.

Residents of California and Other U.S. States With Privacy Laws

This section applies to residents of California and of other U.S. states whose privacy laws grant similar rights.

Categories of personal information collected in the last 12 months: identifiers (the identifiers listed above), commercial information (purchase events), internet or other electronic activity (usage and advertising information), approximate geolocation (from IP address), and inferences drawn from the above by our advertising partners to select ads. Sources: you, your device, and our partners. Purposes: those listed under "How We Use Information." We do not collect sensitive personal information, and we do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information.

Sale and sharing. We do not sell personal information for money. We do disclose identifiers, usage, and advertising information to advertising partners for personalized advertising, which the California Consumer Privacy Act treats as "sharing" and some state laws treat as a "sale." We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

Your right to opt out. Open the App's Settings and choose Privacy Options, then Don't sell or share my data. The App applies that choice to Google and to AppLovin. Because the Apps have no accounts, the choice is stored on the device and applies to that device.

Other rights. You may request to know what personal information we have about you, to delete it, and to correct it, and you will not be treated differently for exercising a right. Email us to make a request; we will verify it by matching the App's internal user ID from your device. You may authorize someone else to make a request for you. If we decline a request, you may ask us to reconsider by replying to our response.

Children

The Apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The Apps do not ask for age. If you believe a child under 13 has used an App and that information was collected, contact us and we will delete it and ask our partners to do the same.

Data Retention

  • On your device: settings, progress, purchases, and the identifiers described above stay until you delete the App.
  • Feedback messages: kept in our support mailbox, like any email we receive, and used only to respond to you. Email us if you want one deleted.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics for Firebase keeps event data for up to 14 months and then keeps only aggregated reports.
  • Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a limited period and not used to identify anyone.
  • Advertising partners: under their own retention policies, linked above.

Security and Changes

We use reasonable measures to protect information, and the third parties we work with commit to protect the information they collect. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

When we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new date. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will tell you in the App before it takes effect.
